Abraham gives us a good example of what faith looks like. In Genesis 12:1 (NLT) "The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family, and go to the land that I will show you." Abraham left his native country and he didn't look back. Hebrews 11:15 (BSB) says, "If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return." James 2:22 (BSB) says about Abraham, "You see that his faith was working with his actions, and his faith was perfected by what he did." From Abraham's example we learn that faith is seen when we act on what we believe.
I use this example when walking in healing. In the past I couldn't go into buildings without getting sick. I could only go into buildings that had been laboratory tested (expensive!) for certain fungi. This meant I could only go into my home and my church which were tested. Now I go into any building necessary. That is an act of faith for me. I believe I am healed so I am living like a healed person. Sometimes I have to refuse to think about the condition of the building I am entering. Going into buildings doesn't make me healed or make faith happen. But because I have faith in God's love for me and healing power in me, I go into buildings. Praise God He is faithful and I am healthy!
